After completing Ahmed Ali’s education at Al Azhar University, a renowned center of academic excellence and innovative thought, he returned to India in 1935 to dedicate himself to the country’s development. He worked among educationally underserved communities, recognizing that empowerment and upliftment could only come through education.
His ideas for educational reform and his dream to establish an academic hub in Kerala were discussed with colleagues and admirers. This vision was welcomed and encouraged by many like-minded individuals. As a result, the Rouzathul Uloom (Garden of Wisdom) Arabic College was founded in 1942 near Manjeri, Kerala – one of the first affiliated Arabic colleges in the state.
The founder’s great aspiration was to build a knowledge center that could provide education from the primary to the advanced level. In 1946, the Rouzathul Uloom Association was formed to expand the college and its operations, and to realize the vision of this distinguished scholar.
